Coffee Q&A

What kind of equipment do you use to roast and process your coffee?

We roast our specialty lots on a 2 kg commercial-grade, gas-powered drum roaster, which allows us to maintain precise thermal control and ensure absolute consistency across every single roast batch. For our pre-ground options, we use a heavy-duty commercial burr grinder.

How are roasts selected?

We evaluate fresh harvest cuppings from Andean micro-regions, selecting beans that highlight vibrant acidity, panela sweetness, and distinct terroirs before slow-roasting in small batches.

How do you ensure your ground coffee is uniform and even?

We take grind consistency to the extreme by combining top-tier machinery with an advanced temperature-control technique. First, we use a heavy-duty commercial burr grinder that shears beans to an exact, uniform particle size instead of smashing them like a standard blade grinder.

Second, and most importantly, we freeze our roasted beans before grinding them. Grinding generates friction and heat, which can easily bake the coffee during the process and burn off its most delicate, volatile aromatic oils. By grinding the coffee frozen, we keep the temperature low to protect those precious flavors. Additionally, freezing makes the coffee beans more brittle, causing them to shatter into significantly more uniform, even particles for a flawlessly balanced extraction.

Do you offer subscriptions?

Yes! You can receive seasonal single-origin releases delivered fresh to your door on a flexible schedule. Customize bean origins and roast profiles anytime through your account.

How fresh is the roast?

All beans are roasted to order in small artisanal batches and shipped within 48 hours to ensure peak flavor expression and aromatic vibrancy in your cup. For the freshest experience, we recommend whole beans ground just before brewing.

Where can I learn more?

Where do you source?

Our green coffee crops are directly sourced from partner farms across Huila, Nariño, Tolima, and Caldas in the Colombian Andes, through two importers that share the same Passion for Colombian Coffee and equity for growers.
